Connect an AI tool
Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools can be connected directly to your own question collection. In the chat, the AI then writes questions, adds images and puts exams together from them — without copying or importing. The connection follows the open standard MCP (Model Context Protocol); in the tools it is usually called a “connector” or an “app”.

After signing in, you will also find it in the settings under “AI tools”.
In Claude
In the settings under “Connectors”, add a custom connector and enter a name such as “tech-exam” and the address above. Then connect it: tech-exam asks you to sign in and then whether Claude may access your question collection and exams. Custom connectors are not available on every plan. In a team or school account, the person who manages the account may have to allow them first.
In ChatGPT
In the settings under “Apps” (formerly “Connectors”), turn on developer mode in the advanced settings. Then create a new app, enter a name such as “tech-exam” and the address above, and choose “OAuth” as authentication. When connecting for the first time, tech-exam asks you to sign in and to give your consent. Developer mode is not available on every plan. In a team or school account, the person who manages the account may have to turn it on first.
In other tools
Any AI tool that supports remote MCP connectors with sign-in can connect using the address above. Menu names differ by tool and version; look for the place where you can add a custom connector, an MCP server or an app by its address.
What the AI may do
On request in the chat, the tool can then read, create, change, move and delete questions and put exams together from them: write tasks, settings and PDF resources, and open or close an exam. An exam that someone has already taken part in can only be opened, closed or duplicated — the copy can be edited again. Participants, submissions and grades are out of its reach. Its changes cannot be undone; at most ten questions or tasks are deleted at a time. The tool adds images itself: a drawing as SVG, an image from the web by its address; tech-exam converts them just like an upload in the editor and keeps its own copy.
Disconnecting
The connection is removed in the tech-exam settings under “AI tools”. After that, the tool can no longer reach the collection until it is connected again and consent is given again.
Without a connection
If you don't want to or can't set up a connection, let your own AI write a question file and import it into the collection. How the file is structured is described in the question format.
